which is sooo near to my hus..yet gt to go sch 1st..

One e 1st day we did some basic kayaking skills.
did the capsize drills, and some rowing techniques.
everything smelt of salt-.-
then pitched the tent, ready for the night's sleep.
cooked rice, mixed with baked beans, braised peanuts and hotdogs.
overall still a nice meal.
RATHER UNFORTUNATELY, it rained.
in the night, complete with thunder.
we were evacuated to the MPH(multi-purpose hall)
not a nice night, was bloody cold.

so got up the next day aching all over because of our sang-ngek kayaking and a bad night's sleep.
had PT. 10 pumps, 10 back raise, 10 crunches, 10 half-squats, 10 heel raises, then three rounds around the parade square.
did belaying. found out that the others going for expedition, that day. actually monday night la.
they were going on landex (land expedition). so we learnt the belay calls, did some rock climbing.
then pitched tent 'upstairs' quite cooling, that night.
then Lum told us we had buddy watches, Amundsen and Cook.
played some team games and started to get wind of our seaex (sea expedition)
wasn't feeling VERY up to it. since i was still aching all over.
packed our bags, two to one, since only needed some clothes. unlike the landex pple.
whole mass of things to pack.
got to sleep after filling up all the water bottles, packing stuff into the backpacks.



got up at 04 30 - 05 00 hrs. in order to unpitch tent, and change shoes.
went out to sea at around 07 00 hrs. we were going to be going to camp 1 from camp 2 (where we were),
which was to the right. instead we turned left.
we were warned to better reach the rivermouth by 11 55 hrs
or to kebelakan pusing thankfully enough, we reached quite early
despite major waves coming from the boats nearby, almost capsized.
paused at the bridge to eat and hydrate, then set off again.
reached the mud bank, where it was low due to high tide. so didnt need to carry it over.
over at the other side, while waiting for the rest to pass, Bibi, the other watch instructor,
started catching jellyfishes. well the felt jelly-ish and had a fishy smell.
kayaked up north, approaching malaysia. went through the fence for keeping illegal immigrants swimming in.
then kayaked westward, going nearer camp 1. eventually reached after 6hrs of kayaking.
pitched tent at camp1. and had fun.
good toilets, good food, good facilities, but bad campsite. rocky.
dinner was provided by caterer. so we had rice, chicken wings and veggies.
pretty fulling.
so then we ate, wrote down in journals and chatted with Lum for a bit.
slept in the rocky campsite. freaking rock under my back.

woke up aching all over, having not slept well.
had to kayak back to camp2. the short way, duh. and it was only and hour+'s rowing away.
shored up, and washed the kayaks. Bibi started giving us a free shower while scrubbing away the dirt.
then did the Jetty Jump. also, hwachong's last day in Ubin. the rest coming back from their 3D2N landex.
then trekked around Ubin abit. ran into the landex people. missed them quite a bit larh.
did the psychomotor skills thing. and allen had to shit><
failed it la. but had to go back and start the packing up.
lost two backpacks. zZ.
went to sleep not feeling VERY great, since one cost $115. not very cheap.

really did the packing up today. everything went without a hitch.
okay, not the washing up and the counting.
luckily, Lum came back with the 'missing items':2 backpacks, 1 jerrycan and 1 lifejacket.
lucky no need pay, still can get obs shirt.
hehs. redid the ponchos countless times. misunderstood instructions.
then scrubbed the pot. with colgate.
finally finished, got our certs, stuff back and bought souvenirs, etc.
reached mainland around 14 00 hrs. FINALLY.
no more PU plates. away from that 'godforsaken' place.
CIVILISATION. YAY. so here i am blogging.
